Update from Houston - Reading App & Dissertation Work - Exercise Needed
Hello,
I have sent my application for the Postgraduate Research Scholarship to Reading. It is scheduled to be delivered by noon on June 16th.
I am working on my dissertation and I just seem to always be hitting walls -- i mean i read and research and all but when it comes to writing it -- i have a block - I just need to force myself

I Got a Snazy DVD - Workout
Hello everyone --
I am working on my dissertation. I also got in the mail today a really cool new hip DVD workout -- Natalie Cassidy's Then & Now Workout --- it is from the UK -- My Good Friend Abby got it for me
I am excited I took a sneak peak while I was working and it looks like some fun -- I will have to keep up with the routine.
Well I am just working to have a draft done and then to submit the dissertation soon -- off to washington at the end of the month June 30th to July 8th

Dissertation Work - Section 1 - Progress
Well let me see
I am progressing on work on the dissertation - it is friday a weekend and all - will have a busy weekend I am sure and a lot to do with the paper and writing and all
Who knows what else is going to go on -- Still thoughts about having a friend visit - i guess i was just concerned about having a weekend at the cost -- but a weekend is worth it -- a couple hours or even a hour would be worth it with her -- so i will keep in touch
What else am I up to - we might finally have the carpet sorted with Lowe's since the issue has been resolved and we need to make a new selection of a color and complete the install sometime in June or July -- what else ????

Working on the Dissertation - Houston June 2008
Hello
I guess I haven't written for awhile. I am working on my dissertation and looking at job opprotunities along the way. I have sent out a handful of applications and was contacted by Reynolds and Reynolds to apply for a position. However that did not progress beyond the initial testing stages.
Other than that I am working on my dissertation and have a deadline to complete it prior to June 30th -- because that is the date we go to washington state from June 30th to July 8th. I would like to ask someone special to visit in Washington but I dont believe they have any holiday left from their job. Summer is also a hectic time to travel.
Let me see what else is on the agenda -- find a job, or start teaching, or a fellowship -- who knows in the end there are many things to do

Back In Houston - Networking Dinner Tonight - Legal Research - Misc Repairs
Hello World,
Well let me see -- I have a dinner tonight with the North Houston Medical Branch at Northgate forest country club -- seems like an interesting evening -- the dinner is at 7 pm but networkings is at 6 pm -- I will have to wait and see what the night involves.
I am working on many things today -- from camaro issues, to the buick which was taken in to safety and then register with Texas -- I also called on some auto insurance and then I am reviewing some property questions in washougal -- I also am thinking about my dissertation - my brother's graduation -- diet and everything else
A friend of my brother - John Rogers - had a medical crisis in his family with a heart attack with his father and then stints were put in -- so that worked out alright --
Robert graduates on saturday - we are off to oklahoma friday morning -- myke

Leaving Washougal - May 4th 2008 - Houston
Well,
It has been an eventful time in Washougal - I worked on a few cars and repaired some vehicles and as well got a brand new lawn tractor - which my mother enjoyed immensely - I also visited with neighbors and did the odd errand here and there.
I am looking forward to houston - the next weekend is my brother's graduation from law school in oklahoma -- I am working on my dissertation and want to have a draft by the middle to late part of this month -- My father's B-day is this Month -- My mom is in June -- A lot to do and a little time -- I need to get looking for employment and various other issues with my future -- I am sort of waiting a bit - not to my detriment but because who knows what the future holds

Off to Washington State - 25th April 2008
Well - It has been a busy week since Abby left last Saturday
The family has bought carpet, toolbox, the skylark has been repaired, there have been a lot of different things done and completed -- Washington will be a time for me to work on my dissertation and begin a headlong dive into its completion - I will be in washington until the 4th of May then return for my brothers graduation which is May 10th from law school.
It is an exciting event - what else has been up in the air since FARMTRAC has gone bankrupt -- well nothing much except there should have been a dealer meeting in Tarboro today
Let me see everything else I am looking forward to the cool weather of Washington State and need to work to complete my work as soon as possible.

Monday - Houston, Tuesday - Galveston, Wednesday - Houston - An Amazing time with an AMAZING person
Well
Monday I went and picked up Abby so we could leave for Galveston in the morning and then we were off to the seaside for the day. Tuesday in Galveston was amazing and very nice to spend so much time with Abby. Then this morning I met with Abigail's parents and then came back to take a rest since I was amazingly tired.
Abby is off to New Zeland on Saturday via Las Vegas and Los Angeles

Monday - 14th April 2008 - Houston
Hello
Well I am at home today - anticipating my evening with Abby - she is coming over to visit and then we are going to Galveston tomorrow for a day by the sea -- However it is amazingly COLD here in Houston -- Not freezing but chilly for this time of year.
The high today is to be 66 F or 19 C and that is really cool for this time of year and it has made the day interesting as well as the trip to galveston. The weather should hopefully remain sunny tomorrow and also quite nice to let us both enjoy the coast --
I need to still go to home depot and also make a run to Harbor Freight this week as well work on my dissertation and get it complied -- and sorted -- I also will be taking a road trip soon to New Jearsey to pick up an anniversary gift for my dad.
Well I think this week is going alright and I am excited about this evening

Thursday in Houston -- Rainy Day
Well it is Thursday - and that means it is only 2 Days until Abby arrives at IAH -- I am so excited and So looking forward to my time with Abby. IN the meantime I need to work on my dissertation and also put in more effort on my studies and my time.
I have been distracted, as of recent, by tv antennas, resume programs, job hunting, career opprotunities, and other issues and miscellaneous distractions -- I really need to be on track with all of my stuff since there is very little time between now and June 20th 2008
The Red-Box DVD rentals have been suspended for the time being as I need to use the time in the evening to work on my dissertation -- I also need to get onto a normal day schedule -- I need to sleep by midnight at the latest and rise no later than 9 am -- shooting for 8:30 am -- I just need to get back in the swing of things -- i think it is a bit of the duloxetine and a bit of laziness on my part.
So let me see what else is going on -- nothing much -- I need to find a job, I need to complete my academic work -- and I need to relax and not stress so much about both topics -- but in the end I need to enjoy my time with abby.

Messing About the House -- Misc Work
Well today is a lazy day -- I need to get back on a schedule -- I have restarted my duloxetine and it is kicking my butt a bit -- but it will slowly keep getting better -- I woke up late this morning but then I continued working on the 57 Chevy and have removed all visible connections except for a radiator bolt which has come lose -- most likely will have to cut it
Well we are looking for a better over the air antenna for the house because of the quality of the digital convertor box which has brought and amazing picture to our old tired tvs -- but the digital tv switchover is like freeview in the UK but not as many channels are present -- i think main stream tv is missing out because the digital over the air is a means to keep people off cable and satellite -- but people will still want premiums -- but for a good picture without a contract or monthly payment these digital boxes are amazing
So let me see I need to work today -- seriously and set myself a normal schedule to the day including waking up by 8:30 am and going to bed by midnight or sooner -- I also need to return WALK HARD: the Dewey Cox Story -- to Red Box DVD rental -- this will be at walmart or mcdonalds --
I dont know what else is on the agenda today but we shall see -- mom seems to be staying in bed all day but she -- says she has not been sleeping well the previous nights --

The Los Angeles Adventure comes to an End - 8 April 2008
Hello & Welcome back to thoughts of a misunderstood --
So as u know I went to LA this weekend for the Wedding of Mariyetta and Ruslan. I met Mariyetta while visiting Louis & Clark Law School on a preview day in late 2002 or early 2003 -- I am unsure about the date -- but most likely it was during the summer of 2002.
Mariyetta lived in Irvine and I visited her one other time but we kept in contact with one another and all of a sudden out of the blue she told me she was getting married. I am happy for her and I know she is very happy especially after attending the lavish and extravagant wedding at the Romanov restaurant in Studio City.
So I arrived LA on a friday around noon - my plane was a bit late and then I made my way over to chris's house and we then caught up and went for a bite at a brazilian meat buffet. Then that evening we went to Bisby's to watch the LA lakers and Dallas Mavericks play and I was introduced to some of chris's friends.
Then chris took me to meet his cougars -- and this was interesting since the night ended with one of them receiving a DUI and the CHP being quite shady about a handoff. But then we awoke around 9 am on the saturday and proceeded to return to chris's apartment to recover and then to go and watch the Final Four at Bisbys
We watched the Final Four - UCLA v. Memphis - and this was a disappointing game for Chris and for Iana who was watching the game with us - then we went on to the crib of Iana and her boyfriend to watch the Kansas City Jayhawks v the Tarheels. It was a good game -- then I left to go to dinner with Rik and J.J. in GLendale
I met Rik and JJ at the Todai restaurant in Glendale -- however they were quite late and we had to move to BJ's Pizzeria which I believe was a much better choice. I then caught up with Rik and met JJ who doesnt seem to like me very much -- but live and let live.
Then SUNDAY - wedding day -- nothing to exciting -- went to rubios for a meal -- which was high on my list of priorities and then also went to Venice beach and then let me see what else did I discover along the way -- met some more of chris's friends -- at the World Cafe in Santa Monica -- and then rushed home to prepare for the wedding
Made the wedding my 5:20 -- Then went upstairs - felt a bit out of place since most people spoke russian and I do not but - dmitry who was sitting at Table no 6 along with amber and a undergrad friend of Mary's all made the evening quite special
The Russian wedding was quite exciting - it included - 18 or so colde startes, then 12 hot starters, then a main course (chicken kiev,newyork steak, salmon, lamb chop), then a fruit platter and a sweet tray then wedding cake. The wedding went from about 5:30 to 11:30 pm
I then ran back into chris about 2 am once home since he was out working as a professional poker player -- We rendezous at the Saints and Sinners bar down from his apartment and then all went back home to rest -- Monday was the day I leave and I knew i would be sleeping in
So Monday morning 9 am arrives -- i snooze my alarm until 10 am and then -- i take a shower and pack and prepare to leave by 10:45 -- i grab some chorizo sausage at ralphs then make my way to the airport -- then I get on an overstuffed plane and arrive in houston around 6:30 pm
So that was my time in LA - I seemed to get a bit of color and otherwise it was a good trip

Job Search / TSA / Weddings / April Anniversary - 2 April 2008
Well Hello & Welcome to another installment of Thoughts of a Misunderstood
Well - I have been looking for job openings - I have found a few I need to apply for - these range for straightforward lawyer employments to fields utilizing my degree in law and my MSc in Socio-Legal Studies -- I will need to get cracking and get a new CV uploaded soon.
Let me see what else is in the works - my mom has a TSA exam tomorrow and best of luck to her
I am off on friday to a wedding in California -- seems a good friend Mariyetta Meyers is getting married and she has invited me -- I am quite excited seems like it will be a wonderful affair
Today is my parents 32 wedding anniversary and as well the 4 year anniversary of my dads heart attack in Dallas -- so it is a bittersweet day but it remains a day to celebrate my parents being together for 32 years.
We had pizza for dinner with some hot wings -- all in all it was an adventure -- then we also switched out my itouch at the apple store and did a little bit of anniversary shopping

Sunday in Houston - 30/3/2008
Well it is Sunday --
The time has once again shifting in the UK - so we are back to the 6 hrs time difference -- I called my ex-housemate to see how everything was going in the house and was informed he had a date on the weekend -- i guess it was supposed to be a walk but since it was pouring down rain in bristol - it ended up being a movie -- 27 or 29 dresses -- and then another date has been scheduled for dinner on tuesday -- my best wishes to james
I also need to work today -- shower -- realized I didnt shower yesterday -- begin to wake up earlier -- I seem to be sleeping in a bit recently on the weekend -- My parents wedding anniversary is soon -- on the 2 - April - 2008 and my dad has been shopping for gifts already -- we need to go up to Sears tonight to make sure the deals he got to surprise my mom are all above board -- then I think that is about it ---

Life is Interesting -- 29/3/08
Well -
I know I said I would update this evening but I just wanted to jot down some ramblings while they were fresh in my head -- let me see -- I was just contacting Lowes home improvment for the small print on the 199 carpet install -- then let me see what else am I up to -- I need to return carpet samples this evening for my deposit to be refunded -- then it is the weekend and I need to do some work -- it is quite muggy outside today -- and a bit warmer than it has been previously -- i dont know if I shall venture outside or not but I will try to keep myself occupied ----

I know I said I would update this evening but I just wanted to jot down some ramblings while they were fresh in my head -- let me see -- I was just contacting Lowes home improvment for the small print on the 199 carpet install -- then let me see what else am I up to -- I need to return carpet samples this evening for my deposit to be refunded -- then it is the weekend and I need to do some work -- it is quite muggy outside today -- and a bit warmer than it has been previously -- i dont know if I shall venture outside or not but I will try to keep myself occupied ----

Well -- it seems that being misunderstood is something that comes easily to me -- but at the same time - i totally understand points of view -- i am just up and I realize it is NOON here which clearly is late in the day -- so We shall see what this saturday holds -- I need to do work on my dissertation and also complete some other misc work -- I need to make a call back to bristol today to talk to an old roommate -- Will have an update later this evening

Another Day Another Dollar -- 28/3/2007
Well - it appears to be another normal day so to speak -- I was mentioning to Abby that I feel like wearing a monocle while writing this blog at times and then at other moments it seems quite silly -- who really knows -- all I know is that I am for the moment a "darling dalliance" what I am to think of that ???? Whatever no worries -- just something between two people and the world
So I have been working on computers and printing survey responses -- need to call james tomorrow -- find out the gossip -- the juice etc -- I think all in all I am doing alright and in the long run have had one of the best evenings in quite some time.

Memories & Conversations -- 27 March 2008
Well -- it has been an interesting day:
-- the day was not super eventful but the conversations and the gossip as well as the realizations about the past have combined to make the day somewhat eventful -- but in the end what will be the result of this conglomeration of events ???
Well I had a call from ABBY (someone special) and she and I discussed gossip of others and then drama in her life and then finally we said goodnight -- ABBY is in the UK and she is coming to visit in April -- which is quite exciting -- but the conversation tonight -- I felt remiss if I did not ask about her previous relationship and the almost 9 year relationship she was in -- and the response I got was quite interesting and at the same time raised issues inside myself about my past -- and in the end I think I can grow from these feelings -- or at least I hope to -- I know it makes me sound like a broken record but memories are sharper instruments than once thought
Well "Abby" informed me about the conversation -- email -- she had with her significant other on or about the 9th anniversary which was the same day I left for the USA -- oddly enough -- but then she described the issues and how she didnt want to talk to him and in the end just said we need to move on -- I know what that is like and NOW i think i am seeing both sides of the equation -- but in the end the past is still painful from time to time -- not the pain of regret or remorse - or anything especially soul destroying but just memories
So in the end -- i saw that the person with whom I was previously in a long term relationship may be married or at least close to being married -- and at the same time the conversation with "abby" brought back those memories -- in the end it seems like it is just something one lives with as memories -- but in the end -- I do not want the past back and nor do I want what was the past to begin again -- but it still feels weird -- so in the end it is just something to think about
Finally in the end -- I wonder about "Abby" I really like her and I think I may have found someone very, very special -- who knows in the end -- we shall see where this goes -- Abby has many things to work on herself and I have many things to get sorted in my life -- we shall have to see where this all ends up in the wash so to speak -- i think well but I am not putting the cart before the horse -- or at least i will try my best

Where does one begin on a blog --
Some would say it would be important to give background information, others would say living in the moment is all that matters -- then still there are others who would say goals are important and finally there are many who would say who gives a damn -- then the misunderstood would say -- it all matters
So what is the background for this blog -- just a place to enter current events and thoughts -- goals for the future, days events, conversations, and then finally -- memories and stories -- the most important focus would be STORIES - we are all story tellers and in the end it is the individual as their stories that truly matter in life and in the future.
It is odd to me that the storyteller would be so important -- not odd but something not originially concieved becuase with the advent of so many channels of communication we can all attempt to tell stories but at the same time can we all be story tellers????
